Global economic indicators improved in the second quarter of 2010 and world GDP growth for the year is forecast at around 4.5%, according to the IMF. There were signs of growth in private demand and employment levels in mature economies during Q2, as well as improving consumer confidence and industrial production. However, the outlook is marred by ongoing government debt problems and concerns over policy responses, particularly within Europe.
